Together for nature: inauguration of the Living Chapel in Rome
Sunday, June 07, 2020
On June 5th, LIFE PRIMED participated in the inauguration of the installation called The Living Chapel ( https://livingchapel.com/ ) as one of the main important sponsors. The installation is made of recycled material covered entirely with young plants and trees and equipped with a music system generated by water ( https://youtu.be/qTmJJJ1d114 ). The aim of the project is to increase awareness on the planet biodiversity, promoting the Laudato Sì papal encyclical and the principles of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, encouraging collaboration in protecting and restore the environment, with an emphasis on tree-planting in support of the UN Trillion Tree Campaign. A hundred of native seedlings have been donated by LIFE PRIMED from those currently growing the project’s forestry nursery. At the end of the summer, the seedlings nurtured by the Living Chapel will be distributed throughout Italy to restore degraded lands and create new gardens. The event has attracted a big media interest with dozens of newspapers articles and TV reportages (e.g. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=662338927649896 ).
